Living in Arlington means living in the middle of everything. We are the entertainment capital of Texas, the home of the Cowboys and Rangers, and the educational hub of UTA. But being the "center of it all" between Dallas and Fort Worth can sometimes feel like you’re being pulled in a dozen directions at once.
If you are struggling with anxiety, that constant hum of activity—the construction on I-30, the roar of the stadium crowds, or the pressure to keep up with work or school—can turn from exciting to overwhelming.
My name is Anamile Guerra. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and I provide virtual anxiety therapy to help you find your footing again. You don’t have to navigate that overwhelming feeling alone.
The "Arlington Squeeze": Why Stress Hits Differently Here
Arlington has a unique energy. We have beautiful pockets of calm like Dalworthington Gardens y Pantego, but we are also surrounded by major arteries of traffic and commerce. I talk to many people here who feel a specific kind of burnout that comes from our geography.
You might be a student at UTA facing the crushing weight of finals and the uncertainty of what comes next. You might be a professional living in Viridian, trying to balance the demands of a high-pressure career with the desire to enjoy the nature trails right outside your door. Or maybe you commute daily to Dallas or Fort Worth, and the unpredictable gridlock on Hwy 360 o I-20 leaves you feeling frayed before your workday even begins.
Anxiety often convinces us that we need to be doing más—working harder, driving faster, achieving more. In a city that never really slows down, it’s easy to believe that voice.
Skip the Commute (and the Game Day Traffic)
One of the biggest barriers to therapy is simply getting there. In Arlington, that challenge is real. If you have an appointment at 5:00 PM on a game day, navigating the Entertainment District or trying to cross town can be a nightmare.
That is why I focus exclusively on telehealth.
With virtual therapy, you don't have to worry about:
- Dodging construction traffic on Cooper Street o Collins.
- Getting stuck in "game day gridlock" near AT&T Stadium o Globe Life Field.
- Rushing from work to a waiting room across town.
Instead, you can log in from a quiet spot in your home, your parked car during a lunch break, or even a private study room on campus. I want our time together to be a relief, not another stressful appointment on your calendar.
How We Treat Anxiety Together
Anxiety isn't just "worrying too much." It’s often a physical and emotional loop that feels impossible to break. You might experience a racing heart, sleepless nights, or a constant pit in your stomach.
I use an approach that blends Terapia cognitivo-conductual (TCC), Terapia Breve Centrada en Soluciones (SFBT), y técnicas centradas en la persona. We won't just talk about your symptoms; we will look at the roots of your anxiety and build practical tools to manage it.
- Understanding Your Triggers: Is it social anxiety when you're out in the crowds at Texas Live!? Is it performance anxiety related to your job or studies?
- Changing the Narrative: We’ll look at the thought patterns that keep you stuck in a cycle of fear.
- Finding Your Strengths: I believe you already possess many of the strengths needed to heal. My job is to help you rediscover them.
A Space for Everyone (Hablo Español)
Arlington is beautifully diverse, from the historic streets of East Arlington to the growing families in South Arlington. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, and I am passionate about making mental health support accessible to our bilingual community.
If you prefer to express your emotions in Spanish, or if you find yourself switching between languages when you’re stressed, you are welcome here. Therapy works best when you can speak freely, without having to translate your feelings.
Encontrar la calma en el caos
While therapy is where we do the deep work, I also encourage my clients to reconnect with the parts of Arlington that offer peace. We are lucky to have places like River Legacy Park and the hidden trails of Crystal Canyon Natural Area.
Part of our work together might involve finding those small moments of grounding in your week—whether that’s a walk through the nature preserve, a quiet morning coffee in Downtown Arlington, or simply learning to breathe through a stressful moment at home.
