Terapeuta LatinX

Living in the “Tall City” comes with a specific kind of rhythm. You have the quiet beauty of the West Texas horizon on one side and the intense, high-stakes energy of the Permian Basin on the other. Whether you are managing the pressures of the oil and gas industry, raising a family in Green Tree, or navigating life as a young professional near downtown, the drive to keep up can sometimes feel relentless.

I’m Anamile Guerra, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. I provide virtual anxiety therapy to residents across Midland, offering a space where you can slow down, process the stress, and find your footing again without having to battle traffic on Loop 250 to get to an appointment.

When the Pressure of the Basin Gets Heavy

Midland is a city built on resilience and hard work. But the very things that make this community thrive—the demanding shifts at companies like Diamondback or Pioneer, the boom-and-bust economic cycles, and the “always-on” culture—can also be major sources of anxiety.

You might be feeling it in different ways:

  • Desequilibrio entre vida laboral y personal: If you or your partner works long rotations in the field, the separation and unpredictable schedules can create a constant hum of worry at home.
  • Performance Anxiety: The pressure to succeed in a competitive environment can lead to sleepless nights and a fear of “dropping the ball.”
  • Isolation: Even in a growing city, it’s easy to feel isolated, especially if you moved here for work and are far from your support system.
  • General Overwhelm: Sometimes, it’s just the traffic on Highway 191 or the crowd at H-E-B that tips the scale from “busy” to “too much.”

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach because your anxiety is personal to your life here. My goal is to help you understand what is driving your stress and build practical tools to manage it.

Why Online Therapy Fits the Midland Lifestyle

For many of my clients in Midland, the idea of adding a commute to a therapy office feels like just another chore on an already overflowing to-do list. Telehealth removes that barrier.

No Commute, No Waiting Rooms
You don’t have to worry about rushing from an office in the Business Loop or navigating the construction on I-20 to make your session. We can meet wherever you have a private space and a stable internet connection—whether that’s your parked car during a lunch break, your home office in Grassland Estates, or your living room after the kids are asleep.

Privacy and Discretion
In a tight-knit community where everyone seems to know everyone else, seeking mental health support can sometimes feel vulnerable. Virtual therapy offers a layer of privacy that many of my clients appreciate. You don’t have to worry about running into a coworker or neighbor in a waiting room.

Access to Bilingual Support
I am fluent in both English and Spanish. If you feel more comfortable expressing your emotions in Spanish, or if you navigate a bilingual household, we can conduct our sessions in the language that feels most natural to you.

How We Work Together

I work under the supervision of Jennifer Gonzalez, MS, LPC-S, and Amanda Varnon, MA, LPC-S. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based methods, but it’s also warm and human. I’m not here to just nod and take notes; I’m here to help you make changes.

I often use Terapia cognitivo-conductual (TCC), which focuses on identifying the negative thought patterns that fuel anxiety. For example, if you constantly worry that a small mistake at work will lead to being fired, we’ll work on challenging that narrative and replacing it with a more balanced perspective.

I also incorporate Terapia Breve Centrada en Soluciones (SFBT). This is particularly helpful when you feel stuck. Instead of spending months dissecting the past, we look at what is working in your life right now and how we can do more of it. We focus on your strengths—the same resilience that got you this far—and use them to move forward.

Is This Right for You?

You don’t have to be in the middle of a crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people I work with are high-functioning individuals who are simply tired of feeling on edge.

You might benefit from therapy if:

  • You find it hard to “switch off” after work.
  • You experience physical symptoms of anxiety, like a racing heart or tight chest.
  • You are avoiding social situations or procrastination is affecting your career.
  • You feel a constant sense of dread about the future.

My role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be honest about these feelings. We will move at your pace, focusing on the goals that matter most to you, whether that’s sleeping better, communicating more clearly with your spouse, or just feeling more present in your daily life.

Vamos a conectarnos

Reaching out is often the hardest step, especially in a culture that values toughness. But acknowledging that you need support is a strength, not a weakness.

I work with adults and couples throughout Texas via secure video conferencing. If you are ready to explore what therapy can do for you, or if you just have questions about how the process works, I invite you to contact me.

Let’s work together to help you find a sense of calm amidst the hustle of the Tall City.
