Terapeuta LatinX

Living in the “City of Choice” comes with a unique set of contrasts. You have the small-town charm of Old Town Cibolo on one hand, and the rapidly expanding developments along FM 1103 on the other. It’s a community that is growing fast—sometimes it feels like it’s growing faster than we can keep up with.

For many professionals and families here, life looks picture-perfect on the outside. You might have a beautiful home in Bentwood Ranch o Turning Stone, and your kids are doing great at a SCUC ISD school. But internally, you might be struggling with a heaviness that doesn’t seem to match your surroundings.

If you are feeling weighed down, disconnected, or constantly drained, you aren’t alone. I am here to help you navigate through it without you having to add another commute to your day.

When the “Quiet Life” Feels Heavy

Cibolo is often sought out as a sanctuary from the noise of San Antonio, a place to decompress. But for many residents, that quiet can sometimes turn into isolation.

Depression doesn’t always look like staying in bed all day. In a busy community like ours, it often looks like “high-functioning” exhaustion. You might be:

  • Feeling a sense of dread as you drive home down FM 78 o Cibolo Valley Drive, knowing you have to put on a “happy face” when you walk through the door.
  • Withdrawing from neighbors and community events at Niemietz Park because you just don’t have the energy to socialize.
  • Feeling numb or indifferent about things that used to excite you, like weekend plans or family outings.
  • Struggling with the unique pressures of military life—whether you are active duty at Randolph AFB or a veteran navigating civilian life.

The rapid growth of our city means we are often surrounded by people but still feel incredibly lonely. That disconnection is where depression thrives.

Skip the Drive on I-35: Why Online Therapy Works for Cibolo

One of the biggest barriers to seeking help in the Metrocom area is the traffic. You likely spend enough of your life stuck in congestion on I-35 or navigating the construction on FM 1103. The last thing you need when you’re feeling low is the stress of rushing to an appointment across town or driving into San Antonio.

My practice is primarily telehealth, which means we can meet wherever you feel most safe and comfortable.

  • Conveniencia: Have your session from your home office in Buffalo Crossing or your parked car during a lunch break.
  • Privacidad: No worrying about running into someone you know in a waiting room.
  • Comodidad: It is often easier to open up about difficult feelings when you are in your own space, wearing comfortable clothes, with your own coffee in hand.

Mi enfoque hacia la curación

Soy Anamile Guerra, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. My goal is to create a space where you can drop the mask. You don’t have to perform or pretend here.

I work with adults, older adults, and couples who are ready to find their footing again. My approach is person-centered, meaning I don’t act as the “expert” on your life—you are. I am here to walk alongside you.

I often use Terapia cognitivo-conductual (TCC) to help us look at the thought patterns that might be keeping you stuck in a cycle of negativity. We can also use Terapia Breve Centrada en Soluciones (SFBT) to identify the strengths you already have (even if you can’t see them right now) and use them to build a path forward.

Soporte Bilingüe (Inglés y Español)
Cibolo is a diverse community, and I believe therapy works best when you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and am happy to conduct sessions in either language.

Understanding Depression

Depression is more than just sadness; it is often a thief of vitality. It can make your limbs feel heavy, your mind feel foggy, and your emotions feel blunted.

Together, we can work on:

  • Reconnecting with yourself: Identifying what you actually need versus what you think you debería do.
  • Managing stress: Developing practical tools to handle the pressure of work, family, and a fast-paced environment.
  • Processing transitions: Whether it’s a PCS move, a career change, or just the shifting dynamics of a growing family.

You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone

Reaching out is the hardest step, especially when your energy is already low. But you deserve to feel present in your life again—to actually enjoy a sunset at Schlather Park rather than just watching it pass by.

I am supervised by Jennifer Gonzalez, MS, LPC-S, and Amanda Varnon, MA, LPC-S, and I am committed to providing high-quality, ethical care to residents across Texas.

If you are ready to start feeling lighter, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s talk about how we can get you back to feeling like yourself.
