LatinX Therapist

Living in North Richland Hills often feels like you’ve found a sweet spot in the Metroplex. You have the quiet, family-friendly vibe of neighborhoods like HomeTown or Forest Glenn, but you’re still close enough to the action in Fort Worth and Dallas. On paper, it looks like the perfect suburban life—great schools, weekends at NRH2O or the NYTEX Sports Centre, and plenty of parks to explore.

But just because a city is voted one of the "best places to live" doesn't mean life there is stress-free. In fact, that pressure to maintain a "perfect" life can sometimes be the very thing that fuels anxiety.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, constantly worried, or just unable to shut your brain off at night, I want you to know you aren’t the only one feeling this way. I’m Anamile Guerra, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and I help residents of North Richland Hills find their balance again through virtual therapy.

When the "Suburban Dream" Feels Heavy

Anxiety often creeps in where we least expect it. In a community like NRH, it’s easy to feel like you have to keep it all together. Maybe you’re feeling the pressure to keep up with the neighbors near Iron Horse Golf Course, or you’re juggling the intense demands of raising a family while caring for aging parents.

For many of my clients in the area, the stress starts before the workday even begins. If you commute, you know the specific kind of dread that comes with merging onto Loop 820 or navigating the construction and traffic on Davis Boulevard (FM 1938) and Boulevard 26. By the time you get home, you might be too drained to enjoy the downtime you worked so hard for.

Anxiety can look different for everyone, but common signs include:

  • Racing thoughts that won’t stop, especially when you’re trying to sleep.
  • Physical tension, like a tight chest or shallow breathing.
  • Irritability with your spouse or kids that you feel guilty about later.
  • Avoidance, where you start skipping social events or procrastinating on important tasks.

Why Online Therapy Works for NRH Residents

One of the biggest barriers to therapy is simply finding the time to get there. The last thing you need when you're anxious is to add another 30-minute drive down Precinct Line Road or Rufe Snow Drive to your schedule.

Telehealth eliminates that hurdle. I offer fully virtual sessions, which means you can meet with me from the comfort of your own home, your parked car during a lunch break, or a private study room at the TCC Northeast Campus.

  • No Commute: Save that time for yourself.
  • Privacy: No sitting in a waiting room where you might run into a neighbor or colleague.
  • Comfort: It is often easier to open up when you are in your own safe space, wearing comfortable clothes and sipping your own coffee.

My Approach: A Safe Space to Unpack

I believe therapy should be a collaboration, not a lecture. My goal is to create a judgment-free zone where you can be exactly who you are.

I am bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish. I know that for many families in Texas, language is deeply tied to emotion and culture. If you feel more comfortable expressing certain feelings in Spanish, aquí estoy para escucharte (I am here to listen).

I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). In plain language, this means we will look at the thought patterns that are keeping you stuck in a cycle of worry. We won't just talk about the problem; we will work on practical strategies to help you manage it. We will focus on your strengths—the things that are already working for you—and build on them to help you handle life's curveballs with more confidence.

Who I Work With

I work with adults, older adults, and couples. Whether you are a student facing academic burnout, a young professional navigating a career shift, or a retiree adjusting to a new pace of life, I am here to walk alongside you.

I am supervised by Jennifer Gonzalez, MS, LPC-S, and Amanda Varnon, MA, LPC-S. This ensures that you are receiving high-quality, professional care backed by a team of experienced clinicians.

Let’s Connect

Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You don’t have to carry that weight of anxiety alone.
